The goal of the workshop is to raise awareness of the crisis in self-regulation that we're seeing with children and families, to understand some of the root causes, and to develop tools to increase our own self-regulation skills as well as the skills of people we work with.
The session will include a brief review of the NEAR curriculum (Neurobiology, Epigenetics, ACEs and Resilience) from our ACES training sessions, information on what has changed in child development and family dynamics, small group discussions on triggers and coping mechanisms, and examples of simple practices that can be done on a daily basis to increase self-regulation. The workshop will take place at SOESD, 101 North Grape Street in Medford.
