X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:MESD Ainsworth Building 11611 NE Ainsworth Circle Portland OR 97220 - Auditorium<br/><br/><p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:Arial\,sans-serif"><span style="color:#000000">This year&rsquo\;s K-12 Literacy Network seeks </span></span></span><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:Arial\,sans-serif"><span style="color:#000000"><em>to support educators with knowledge and resources to implement ODE&rsquo\;s new foundational ELA Standards with an intentional focus on improving outcomes for Multilingual Learners and Students with Disabilities across K-12 Literacy.<br/><br/>The first hour of each Network will be devoted to the Book Study and the remaining time will be focused on Research to Practice Spotlights and Networking/Collaborating opportunities.</em></span></span></span></p><br/><br/><br/><br/><p><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="font-family:Arial\,sans-serif"><span style="color:#293578">Book Study: Beneath the Surface of Words: What English Spelling Reveals &amp\; Why it Matters (Scibetta Hegland\, 2021)</span><br/><br/><span style="color:#000000"><em>The book study focuses on building educators&#39\; knowledge around understanding the morphology that is needed to teach students how to read\, spell\, and comprehend multisyllabic words\, vocabulary\, and meet ODE&#39\;s foundational skill standards.</em></span><br/><br/><span style="color:#293578">MESD will provide books to registrants while supplies last.
