CESD is very excited to host this extraordinary team of literacy leaders!

Lunch Order - Elephant's Catering

Agenda: 

A full day of lifting and supporting each other as we dive into what elementary literacy development looks like in our schools. We'll have guiding questions and many opportunities for collaboration and discussion. And of course, lunch and snacks!! 

Questions to be addressed embedded in our learning: 

  • How can school and teacher teams collaborate to ensure sequential - explicit, systematic literacy instruction for all students using core curriculum

  • What does this look like in your elementary classrooms

  • How are teachers being trained to deliver structured literacy

  • How is writing addressed in your elementary classrooms

  • What parts of the K-5 Elementary Literacy Framework do we have questions and/or need clarification around 
  • ​The 5 Essential Practices in Early Literacy

 

CESD Coaching Collab'

Our Mission: To lean in and lift, encourage, support and collaborate alongside each other, positively influencing life-outcomes of our students with the gift of developing literacies. 

Purpose:  The purpose of the CESD Coaching Collab' is to build network of elementary literacy experts that will share/demonstrate and lead with their knowledge of best practices using ODE's Northstar - the K-5 Literacy Framework -  and how they align to developing literacies (Reading/Writing/Listening/Speaking) in ALL students. 

Who we are: Collectively we are individuals who support literacy development for students.:

  • Coaches/Specialists
  • TOSAs 
  • Professional learning providers and higher education faculty (when needed)

What to Expect From the Collab'?:

  • Meet and connect with other coaches/specialists doing this work
  • A space where we can lean-in and learn from one another 
  • Opportunity to share your expertise
  • A space to collaborate and share ideas around instruction
  • Read, write, and think about literacy together, 
  • Occasional featured speakers
  • Book club - we choose the book, collectively 
  • Highlight high-leverage instructional practices
  • Ideas yet to be suggested
