School Safety Inservice

Event Description: The 2025 School School Safety Inservice will provide information about regional opportunities for school safety. Lunch is included. Participants are welcome to attend the whole day or choose between the morning and afternoon session.

Event Objectives:
  • To provide an overview of the regional Juvenile Fire Intervention Network (JFIN). JFIN is for youth who misuse fire or are identified as being at risk for unsafe fire behavior.
  • To introduce psychologically safe lockdown drills specifically for elementary students. Same protocol, new approach with Sammy & Friends founder.
  • Provide opportunities for training including: Stop the Bleed Training,  QPR Suicide Prevention training, and The Regulation Continuum: from Co-Regulation to Self-Regulation interactive training.
Stop the Bleed and QPR sessions will be capped, first come, first served.

8:00 AM - 12:45 PM 
  • School Safety Inservice Day Welcome,
  • Juvenile Fire Intervention Network,
  • Psychologially safe lockdown drills
12:45 - 1:30 - Lunch

1:30 - 3:30 PM
  • Choice between Stop the Bleed, QPR, or Co-Regulation Training
Who Should Attend:  Any school staff or community partner that is responsible for school safety in the K-12 setting. Examples may include: Administrators, School Counselors, School Social Workers, School Psychologists, Behavioral Support Specialists, TOSA’s, School Safety Manager/Coordinators, School Resource Officers, Nurses, Custodial and Transportation staff, etc.

What Should Attendees Bring: Writing utensil, Laptop or notebook to take notes, Water bottle
