Event Details

Event Description

Overview
Oregon's Statewide Assessment System (OSAS) assesses students' mastery of Oregon's challenging academic standards. This course will equip participants with the tools to determine specific areas of English language arts (ELA) and mathematics within their systems that are working well, as well as identify those areas that provide opportunities for improvement. Turn OSAS test results into invaluable data that allow your systems to perform equitably and at the high levels Oregon students deserve.

The course's five modules are designed to help participants gain a greater understanding of the following key concepts:

  • Understanding OSAS test design is key to understanding how to use OSAS test results.
  • Student performance across assessment targets, not overall proficiency rates, provides the most helpful data for use in continuous improvement.
  • Trends in target results can inform curriculum planning, instructional pacing, and professional learning.
  • Connections can be made between assessment targets and standards that can help educators implement powerful formative assessment practices in the classroom.
*PDUs are awarded within 30 days of completing the course.
