This workshop is being offered at the Northwest Regional ESD offices located in Hillsboro, Oregon at:  5825 NE Ray Cir, Hillsboro, OR 97124

K-12 teachers will learn to use the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol or SIOP Model, a planning and teaching framework that will help teachers integrate best teaching practices in their daily instruction. This professional learning will address developmentally and linguistically appropriate strategies and materials that effectively support and promote the academic achievement of all students, with particular attention to our English learners. The text, Making Content Comprehensible for English Learners by Jana Echevarria, MaryEllen Vogt, and Deborah Short, will be provided.

In-person attendance at all three days and completion of all activities are required for 18 PDUs. Coffee and lunch are provided. Please dress in layers for temperature comfort. Bring a battery-charged laptop.
