1. 10/22/24 6-9pm Learning to Spot our Blind Spots: Understanding Implicit Bias and Working to Eliminate It In Our Teaching Practices
Implicit biases are attitudes and stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner, we all have them. In this class, we will explore how these biases impact young children in our programs and develop strategies to recognize and rewrite these subconscious messages.

2. 10/23/24 6-9pm Privilege & Me: Examining Social Identity, Unearned Advantage & How We Can Work to Make Things Fair for Everyone
Privilege is unearned access or advantages granted to specific groups of people because of their membership in a social group. It can be based on various social identities such as race, gender, religion, socioeconomic status, ability status, sexuality, age, or education level. In this class, participants will examine their personal perspectives of privilege and how these shape their ECE practices.

3. 10/29/24 6-9pm Interrupt & Educate: Activities for Early Childhood Professionals to Impede Systems of Oppression
It is important for young children and families to hear us push back against offensive stereotypes and acts of oppression. In this training, we will create a toolkit to support others, understand cultural differences, and promote proactive responses to oppressive behavior.

4. 10/30/24 6-9pm Intentionally Teaching Empathy, Kindness, Open-Mindedness & Compassion in the EC Classroom: Demystifying DEI and Prioritizing Social Justice in Your Program
ECE has a long history of supporting diversity to welcome all children & families in the classroom. This objective of intentionally teaching empathy, kindness, open-minded & compassion is known by other names, including DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion). In this class we explore new words used to describe an age old idea: supporting all children's rights to equitable learning opportunities.
