Session Description
Learn about the basics of thoughtful and inclusive facilitation– Whether it is planning and facilitating a professional learning workshop or a staff meeting. The workshop will focus on 3 of the 7 habits for good facilitation outlined in Bright Morning’s Artful Design and Facilitation: Engaging Emotions, Navigating Power, and Anchoring in Adult Learning Principles.

Event Objectives
  • Understanding emotions, their role and how to navigate them when they manifest during a meeting. 

  • Beginning to develop an understanding and regular reminders for navigating power dynamics in order to design culturally responsive and inclusive meetings.

  • Explore some basic strategies and tools for anchoring facilitation in adult learning principles

Program coordinators, teachers, directors, mentors, instructional coaches, any educator who is tasked with leading meetings or professional learning/development.
