Event Objectives

The Mandt RCT Initial and Recertification Instructor training aims to certify (for 2 years) using a train-the-trainer approach, individuals to train and certify others in their agency to implement Mandt strategies for conflict resolution. These strategies include:

Relational Training: Learning to prevent and de-escalate conflict to build a safer and healthier workplace.

Conceptual: learning how trauma affects behavior and how to employ positive behavior support skills to create safety in the workplace.

Technical: Learn to safely intervene during instances of emotional escalation and physical aggression.

Shield and Pad: Teaches individuals how to protect themselves and those they serve without relying on physical restraints. The program also covers instruction on how to use the equipment for self-injurious behavior (Shield and Pad training requires Relational training)
