Event Details
SIRC is a one day training that teaches a systematic school-based approach to identifying and addressing sexually concerning behavior in schools that can be applied across rural and urban setting with students in grades K-12. Federal guidelines around FAPE, Title IX, special education concerns, and collaboration with law enforcement, mental health partners and community agencies will be discussed and participants will have the opportunity to practice implementation.
Leslie Rodgers is a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years experience working with children and adults in various therapeutic settings, including group homes, psychiatric hospitals, and schools. She specializes in threat/sexual incident response, suicide intervention and school crisis procedures. She currently teaches suicide prevention classes at Lewis and Clark college, provides clinical supervision to new social workers, and operates a small private practive in Portland treating trauma and the LGBTQ+ population.
