We are excited to announce new resources and learning opportunities to support your efforts to implement Abbreviated School Day Programs (ASDP) in compliance with ORS 343.321 to 343.333, previously known as SB 819 (2023).

We are pleased to offer two types of virtual training sessions to support district staff working with ASDPs. These sessions aim to equip both new and experienced staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure compliant implementation of ASDPs. While live sessions will not be recorded, future on-demand training recordings will be made available for staff who are unable to attend live.

• For staff already familiar with ASDPs, the ODE is offering shorter, targeted learning sessions to explore specific aspects of ASDP implementation. These sessions are interactive and scenario-based, designed to deepen expertise in specific areas.

• NEW: Abbreviated School Day Program FAQ. This guidance document is intended to provide a quick resource to teams as they implement ASDP policies and practices. If you have a question you believe should be included in the FAQ, please reach out to our team at ode.sb819questions@ode.oregon.gov. 
• UPDATED: Initial, 30 day, and 25-35 day meeting flowcharts to support 504 and IEP teams in meeting the legal requirements for an ASDP. These resources clarify placement processes, notification requirements, and timelines.
