Verbal-Only CPI Training for SOESD

What Does the Training Include?
Participants will gain tools and strategies through a trauma-informed and person-centered approach, including:
  • Crisis Development Model: A four-step process to turn crises into positive outcomes.
  • Verbal De-escalation Techniques: Non-restrictive strategies like limit-setting to maintain calm and safety.
  • Trauma-Informed Understanding: Insights into how trauma impacts brain function and behavior.
  • Person-Centered Response: Careful, compassionate techniques that prioritize the care, welfare, safety, and security of everyone involved.

Who Can Benefit from This Training?
This training is ideal for all SOESD staff who work with people, not just those in student-facing roles. If you are already CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention trained or unsure if this training is the right fit, please consult your supervisor before registering.

Prerequisite: 
Must be an employee of SOESD to register. Please consult your supervisor for approval before registering for this training.
