This free, hour-long monthly seminar will feature a speaker and include a 30-minute presentation, surrounding the topic of brain injury, followed by a question and answer session. Please come with all your questions! This is a valuable opportunity for educational and medical professionals to connect, learn, and improve outcomes for students with brain injuries.

This free, hour-long webinar will discuss navigating the education/medical landscape when supporting students through return-to-play (RTP) and return-to-learn (RTL) protocols. Learn about the importance of these laws, the critical role athletic trainers (ATs) play in educational and medical settings, and how we can address the ongoing shortage of ATs.

April: 
This free, hour-long session will feature Dr. Lyn Turkstra, Assistant Dean and Professor of Speech-Language Pathology in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences and faculty member in the Graduate Neuroscience Program at McMaster. Dr. Turkstra is a speech-language pathologist by training, and her research focuses on links between cognitive function and social communication in individuals with acquired brain injury. She conducts both experimental and translational research on communication in adolescents and adults, and collaborates on development of practice standards to translate research findings into improved clinical practice. Dr. Turkstra is an author on over 100 peer-reviewed publications, including evidence-based practice guidelines for intervention in acquired brain injury.
