Beginning with the class of 2027, the Oregon diploma requirements will include a 0.5 credit in Personal Financial Education and a 0.5 credit in Higher Education and Career Path Skill, as part of the 24 credit requirements. 

Are you currently teaching financial literacy, or have you recently been asked to teach financial literacy? If so, this workshop is for you!  Please join Senior Wealth Advisor, Damien Rennie, and SOESD Educational Staff to gain deeper insight into the financial literacy standards and to explore real-life projects that will engage students in exploring financial education. Participants will leave this workshop with information necessary to empower their students with financial decisions, a deeper understanding of the financial literacy standards, resources for free financial literacy curriculum, and rough draft outlines for a semester of financial literacy.

Objectives:

  • A working knowledge of the financial literacy standards

  • Resources for free financial literacy curriculum

  • Rough draft outlines for a semester of financial literacy.

$250.00 stipend available for attending the full day workshop pending district and STEM Hub Approval.
