Transition Services: Community Partner Collaboration - Who's Who & How To

Participants will…

  • Explore and discuss effective collaboration & conversation between schools & agencies.
  • Learn what supports & services agencies can provide eligible clients (your students!)
  • Understand Office of Developmental Disability Services (ODDS) employment services.
  • Learn more about the changes in Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services.
 

Sarah Statham, Transition Network Facilitator (TNF)Presenters:
Sarah Statham
is the Transition Network Facilitator (TNF) for Multnomah, Washington, Columbia & Clatsop counties. Her role is to provide technical assistance and support interagency collaboration between schools and community partners in order to strengthen post-school outcomes for youth with disabilities. She holds her MEd in Secondary Special Education and has taught for over 20 years in both 18-21 programming and high school levels. She is an adjunct faculty member at Portland State University teaching Interagency Collaboration and Person-Centered-Supports. Sarah was part of the Seamless Transition Pilot Project with the state of Oregon and was awarded the Outstanding Transition Teacher of the Year in 2016 by OSTC. Sarah enjoys biking, reading as well as hiking and snowshoeing with her family and dog Sawyer.

Secondary special educators and/or administrators who would like to learn more about the system(s) that may be able to provide support to students before and/or after they exit school services.
*This event is reserved for school staff working in Columbia, Clatsop, Tillamook, & Washington Counties*
**Sarah also serves Multnomah County in her role. If you are from that region, please add yourself to the waitlist. If room allows, you will be notified.
