Event Description
Summary:
Ensuring school safety requires a clear, consistent approach to emergency response. This training provides an in-depth look at the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), covering five key actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter. Participants will explore the history and updates to SRP, practical application through drills and exercises, and strategies for supporting students with disabilities during emergencies. Additional modules focus on safety best practices, emergency materials, and the Standard Reunification Method (SRM) to ensure efficient student-family reunification after a crisis. With scenarios, critical resources, and real-life vignettes, this training equips school staff with the knowledge and tools needed to respond effectively and maintain a safe learning environment.
Intended Audience:
This training is designed for school administrators, teachers, support staff, emergency response teams, and district leaders responsible for school safety and crisis preparedness. It is also valuable for special education professionals and student services personnel to ensure inclusive emergency planning for all students.
