This comprehensive training presented by the Center for Integrated Intervention covers a systematic school-based approach to identifying and addressing sexually concerning behavior in schools that can be applied across rural and urban settings with students in grades K-12.

The purpose of this all-day training is to:
  • Define problematic sexual behavior and discuss how it may show up in educational contexts
  • Discuss when schools and school staff are legally and ethically obligated to respond to sexual behavior
  • Introduce a systematic school-based approach to identifying problematic sexual behavior, develop plans for supervision and safety, and manage liability
  • Discuss implications for federal guidelines around FAPE, Title IX, and IDEA
  • Foster collaboration between schools, law enforcement, mental health partners, and other community agencies
  • Practice implementing the Level 1 Sexual Incident Response Protocol
Recommended participants include school and district administrators, counselors, social workers, psychologists, deans of students, mental health specialists, behavior specialists, special education teams, school resource officers, juvenile justice, community mental health providers, and other community partners supporting schools in safety and mental health.
