Inspire your teaching and engage your students! Join KCSD teachers for a course that features three in-person meetings and 8 self-paced modules. Topics include everything from classroom management and lesson design to social skills and creating a positive classroom culture. This course will focus on a wide variety of questioning and engagement strategies appropriate for all grade levels and content areas. We will use Kagan Cooperative Learning by Spencer Kagan as a guide. Here's what you can expect: *Attend three in-person meetings, Oct. 21 (Introduction), Dec. 2 (Mid-course check-in) and Jan. 27 (Celebration), 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the Crater Lake Learning Center.
*At the Introduction meeting, you will receive a Kagan Cooperative Learning book, a binder of slide copies for modules 1-4, and a flip book of structures to use in your classroom.
*For each module: Complete the module and read the two associated chapters. Do the assignments in Schoology. You must complete all Schoology assignments.
*You will be paid for two hours of time per module--for the required reading for that module, practicing with your students, and completing all Schoology assignments for that module.
*All modules and Schoology assignments must be completed by Jan. 23.. At the Jan. 27 Celebration, you will receive a time card for a total of 19 hours at curriculum pay, two hours per module and two hours for the in-person meetings. You will also receive 19 PDUs.
