Event Description

This in-person series on the Science of Writing will focus on research and evidence-based best practices for writing.

Session Times are all: 9 AM -12 PM
 

F, 10/17/2025 - Science of Writing Series: Transcription and Spelling (AM option)
The first session will cover transcription, handwriting, typing, and spelling. 

F, 11/14/2025 - Science of Writing Series: Writing at the Sentence Level (AM option)
The second session will cover sentence writing: simple, expanded, compound, and complex. Paragraph writing will be addressed in both session two and session three. 

F, 2/13/26 - Science of Writing Series: The Writing Process (AM option)
The third session will cover the writing process (planning, composing/drafting, revising, and editing) across different types of writing (informational/expository, narrative, and opinion/argumentative). 

F, 3/13/26 - Science of Writing Series: Writing to Learn (AM option)
The fourth session will focus on writing to learn and the intersections between the science of reading and the science of writing.
