Brains and Behavior: How Trauma Shows Up at School

Back

Event Details

This webinar introduces school staff to the connection between trauma and the brain, starting with an overview of basic brain science and typical development. We’ll explore how trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) affect brain development and functioning, and look at current research that explains why students may respond the way they do in school. Together, we’ll discuss how trauma shows up in classrooms and hallways, and learn strategies for creating supportive, trauma-informed spaces that promote healing, safety, and learning.
