Every month, the Clackamas and Multnomah ESDs will jointly host a virtual meeting to support the expansion and innovation of Building Thinking Classrooms efforts in Oregon.

Participants will join the same meeting, then quickly head into breakout rooms with facilitators:

Innovation PLC 1: Coaching BTC Teachers (led by Lori MacKenzie, CESD)

This group is for building and district-level coaches/TOSAs who are training and supporting K-12 teachers with BTC. Participants will get resources, hear advice, ask questions, and collectively address problems of practice.
 

Innovation PLC 2: Making the Transition to BTC (Dani Flores-Hayden, NWRESD & David Breese, Gresham-Barlow SD)

This group is for teachers who are navigating a shift to Building Thinking Classsrooms practices. Topics will include classroom management, navigating the teacher "Learning Pit," movin from teacher to faciliator, adapting your curriculum, exploring successful routines, and support for multilingual learners.

Innovation PLC 3: Closing the Lesson (led by Amy Lindahl, MESD)

This group is for 6-12 teachers who have moved beyond Toolkit 1 and are experimenting with practices like note-taking, consolidation, and check-your-understanding questions. Participants will create and experiment with new routines and develop a routine library for educators across our region.

These meetings will run once a month on Mondays, Oct.-May, 4:00-4:45pm.
