Blanket Exercise

Event Description:
This interactive exercise invites participants to explore the lasting impacts of colonization on the Indigenous peoples of the land now known as the United States. Through guided reflection and participatory learning, attendees will deepen their understanding of settler colonialism's historical and ongoing consequences—and why teaching Tribal History/Shared History is essential to tribal sovereignty, truth-telling, and cultural belonging in our schools.
Event Objectives:
- Builds foundational knowledge of Indigenous history and sovereignty
- Supports culturally responsive teaching and TH/SH implementation
- Strengthens staff capacity to foster belonging for AI/AN students

Payment, Refund, and Substitution Policy
Refunds: Full refund if you cancel 7 or more business days before the event. No refund if you cancel less than 48 hours before the event or don’t show up. To cancel, please call or email the event contact listed on the page.
Substitutions: You may send someone else in your place if you notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Please provide the name and email of the person attending instead.
Event Cancellations: If WESD cancels the event, you’ll be notified by email. You’ll receive a full refund or can choose to apply your payment to a future training.
