Event Description

2-Day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Tickets, Sat, Oct 21, 2023 at 8:30 AM | Eventbrite
This 2-day in-person ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) workshop is offered to our region through a partnership between Northwest Regional Education Service district, Washington County Behavioral Health Division, and our Washington County school districts. Attending both days consecutively in person is required in order to complete this training.

ASIST is an in-depth, two-day workshop that prepares individuals to provide suicide first aid intervention using LivingWorks’ evidence-based Pathway for Assisting Life (PAL) model. It teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.

Recommended participants include school administrators, counselors, social workers, deans of students, mental health specialists, behavior specialists, special education educators, wellness room support staff, and others in student support roles as well as community partners who may be supporting youth in crisis (e.g., first responders, law enforcement, child welfare, mental health providers, social service providers).

Community partners outside the school system: to create an account in PD Networks, click the "Not in Education" button next to the "District" dropdown, and then enter your position/title.

Online registration closes a week beforehand. Once registration closes, please reach out to Neha Hertzog, School Safety & Prevention Specialist, to inquire about registration availability: nhertzog@nwresd.k12.or.us
