Description

Join Civil and Construction Engineering Technology (CCET) Faculty in learning the fundamentals of Surveying and Civil and Construction focused AutoCAD!

The surveying module will include use of a foundational surveying equipment, including a differential level, a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Trimble receiver, and a Trimble S7 Robotic Total Station.  This equipment is used regularly on-the-job by local Portland Metro Surveyors.  Learn how fun and practical the skills of becoming a Professional Measurer (a Surveyor) are and pass these skills on to your students.  Surveying is an in demand, well paid, outdoor adventure career!
The AutoCAD module will include practice with the industry standard for civil engineering drafting, modeling, and BIM, specifically Civil 3D and Revit.  Learn how to incorporate information obtained from surveyors into a digital model and create a 3D model of a section of land as well as design a digital model of a structure.  Then, take these project experiences into the classroom and share these skills with your students using the full and current version of the software for free!  Drafting and Modeling provides options in the Civil Engineering profession for creative minds that may prefer an indoor career.
