Event Description

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Individualized Education Program (IEP) Development: Guidance, Compliance, & Strategies

Event Information:
This session will provide IEP case managers and anyone supporting the development of an IEP with practical guidance for navigating the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in IEP development.

Participants will explore how AI tools can support efficiency and collaboration while maintaining compliance with key legal and ethical requirements, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The session will cover foundational considerations, common dos and don’ts, confidentiality and data privacy concerns, and appropriate ways AI may assist with drafting portions of the IEP and/or developing tools for instruction and progress monitoring. Attendees will have an opportunity for practice and leave with a clearer understanding of how to use AI responsibly, strategically, and in ways that support high-quality, student-centered IEP practices.
