Back by popular demand!
The WVREN is happy to sponsor mentors, coaches, administrators, and other district leaders from the WVREN region to learn alongside other leaders in Bright Morning’s Art of Transformational Coaching.
From the Bright Morning website:
Most coaching conversations stay at the surface—focusing on behaviors without addressing the beliefs, emotions, and systemic barriers underneath. That's why so many changes don't stick.
Grounded in Elena Aguilar’s, Arise: The Art of Transformational Coaching, this dynamic workshop equips you with the essential skills, mindsets, and tools you need to lead powerful conversations that create real, sustained change.
The Transformational Coaching Approach:
- Go beneath surface-level behaviors to address mindsets and ways of being
- Engage emotions skillfully so people feel safe enough to learn and stretch
- Center equity in everyday conversations
- Build the trust, resilience, and momentum needed to make lasting change possible

Event Objectives
From the Bright Morning website:
What you’ll learn:
- How Transformational Coaching builds trust, agency, and emotional resilience—and interrupts inequitable patterns
- Core strategies for building trust, navigating power dynamics, and supporting client agency
- When and how to coach behaviors, beliefs, and ways of bein
- Multiple tools and approaches for each phase of a Transformational Coaching conversation
- Ways to leverage your strengths as a coach while addressing areas for growth
Workshop Structure:
Self-Paced Prework (5.5 hours)
Your experience begins with a self-guided exploration of the foundations of Transformational Coaching. You’ll engage in reading, podcast listening, and reflection. This combination of knowledge building and reflection will help you clarify your vision for yourself as a Transformational Coach and prepare for the virtual learning experience.
Live Learning (8 hours over two days)
Day 1 (4 hours): Join a Bright Morning facilitator and fellow coaches to process your prework, observe live coaching demonstrations, practice through role plays, and receive immediate feedback in a supportive environment.
Day 2 (4 hours, ~2 weeks later): Reconvene with the same group to deepen your skills. You’ll observe additional coaching demonstrations, practice with new role plays, and receive targeted feedback on your real-world challenges.
This pacing ensures you can apply what you’ve learned, reflect on your experiences, and return with fresh insights—so the learning sticks and transforms your practice.
