Join a year long regional network of educator leaders shaping the thoughtful, human-centered use of AI.
Multnomah ESD and Clackamas ESD, in partnership with the Multnomah-Clackamas Educators Network, invite passionate PK–12 classroom teachers, librarians, and TOSAs to join the Regional AI Network (RAIN) cohort. Designed as a cross-district regional community of practice, this experience blends collaborative inquiry, universal design for learning (UDL), and applied project-based work. Together, participants will examine how artificial intelligence impacts instruction, assessment, accessibility, workload, student agency, and ethical decision-making within their schools and districts.
Participants will receive comprehensive resources and support, including paid subs for four full days and registration for the AI Empowered EDU Conference in May 2027.

May 11, 2027 (Tue) Full-Day AI Empowered Conference @ University of Portland (Sub pay & registration included)
Cohort members will design and implement an applied project tailored to their educational context. Examples include:
Instruction & Literacy: Designing and teaching a set of AI literacy lessons with students.
Accessibility & UDL: Creating personalized, accessible learning experiences using AI tools.
Ethical Leadership: Exploring ethical considerations, bias, privacy, and district policy implications.
Resource Development: Developing an educator-facing guide, toolkit, or resource for colleagues.
Action Research: Conducting an action research project or data analysis using AI in practice.
Important Information
Target Audience: PK–12 classroom teachers, librarians, and TOSAs serving in Multnomah or Clackamas counties. Educators from racially and culturally diverse backgrounds across all grade levels and subject areas are strongly encouraged to apply.
Application Deadline: October 2, 2026.
Acceptance Notification: October 16, 2026.
Surveys: All cohort participants are required to complete a pre- and post-survey to evaluate the program's impact.
