Level 1 Behavior Safety Assessment Training 

Event Description 

This session will train you on the updated Level 1 Behavior Safety Assessment Forms. 

The Level 1 process itself is not changing, but it has been adapted. The framework and methodology remain the same; the forms and supporting documentation are updated. Willamette ESD is transitioning to the updated forms to maintain fidelity to the established model while reflecting revised authorship and structure. These updates align with John Van Dreal’s role as Chief Architect and advisor for the Salem-Keizer Cascade Model at Public Consulting Group, Inc.

Event Objectives 

• Review the Level 1 Behavior Safety Assessment process
• Introduce the updated Level 1 BSA forms
• Provide guidance on implementing the revised documentation

Who Should Attend 

This training is intended for:

• Administrators & District Leaders
• Teams new to Level 1 BSAS
• Teams that have not trained in three or more years
• Teams may include School Resource Officers, School Counselors, School Social Workers, Mental Health Professionals, Behavior Specialists, or others designated by your district leadership

What Should Attendees Bring

• Writing utensil 
• Laptop or notebook to take notes
• Water bottle
