This introduction to Autism will assist you in gaining a better understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Along with learning the characteristics in the four areas that impact ASD students, you will be introduced to strategies to help your students learn to be engaged, invested and independent in your classrooms.
Four Areas that will be addressed:
  • Communication
  • Social Skills
  • Patterns of Behavior
  • Responses to Sensory Sensitivities
 
Target Audience: General education teachers, special educators, speech/language pathologists, all professionals working with students on the Autism Spectrum at elementary to middle-high school grade levels
PDUs: 3 hours
