Focus and Overview of the PLC Math Sessions
Participants will engage virtually in 75 minute math content specific Professional Communities of Practice (PCP)
 
In these virtual PCP sessions, teachers will receive support to:
  • use district curriculum materials to design and analyze student math tasks for increased access, rigor and cognitive demand
  • determine ways to discuss student math strategies and create equitable student engagement during distance, hybrid or face to face learning
  • learn strategies to engage students in the Math Habits of Mind and Interaction
  • celebrate, troubleshoot and brainstorm with other educators also engaged in distance student learning of mathematics
  • identify equitable teaching and learning practices embedded, in both implicit and explicit ways, within the Math Habits and Routines during distance learning
  • review student written work or video clips of lessons
 
In addition, there may be opportunities for participants to receive individual coaching while teaching a lesson.

Dates include: Thursdays: February 18tth, March 4th, April 1st, April 22nd, & May 13th, 4:15-5:30 pm
