webPD Equity 101 - SMBH - Term V 2020/21

Event Details


In this five week, five module, asynchronous online course conducted through Canvas (no ZOOM!), participants will:
  • Review and identify definitions, understandings, and information about basic equity concepts (racism, biases, micro aggressions).
  • Understand the federal and state requirements of school districts in providing equitable educational opportunities for all students.
  • Identify and recognize supportive efforts rooted in equity to support the Oregon Department of Education’s commitment to ensuring all students receive equal opportunities in education.
  • Review and expand historical, sociological, and cultural information to increase equity understanding and implementation.
The class is limited to 35 participants per cohort. Registration closes at 4 pm on Friday, June 4, 2021. A confirmation email will be sent from PDNetworks to the first 35 registrants. Additional opportunities to take this course will be offered next school year.

Note: You do not need to be a current Canvas user to participate in this course; this class does not take place via Zoom.
