Studying Skillful Teaching - Module 2a: Essential Elements of Planning and Lesson Design

There are Four Sessions in this Workshop Series  - Two In-Person & Two Virtual

• In-Person - August 24th & 25th, 2023 - 8:00 am - 3:30 pm
• Virtual - October 18th & 25th, 2023 - 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

You must have successfully completed Module 1 to attend this course

Knowledge Base of Teaching

• Apply the concepts of “areas of performance,” “repertoire,” and “matching” to planning, objectives, formative assessment, criteria for success, and protocols for analyzing student work
• Expand/refresh your repertoire of teaching strategies

Planning and Objectives

• Apply planning decisions
• Articulate mastery objectives
• Use 5 levels of thinking to guide lesson planning

Assessment

• Define formative assessment
• Formulate criteria for success
• Use formative assessment tools
• Apply protocols
• Construct feedback

Who Should Attend: Teachers, Administrators, Instructional Coaches, Teacher Leaders, and Mentors who have successfully completed Module 1

Two In-Person Sessions: 
Thursday August 24th & Friday August 25th
8:00 am - 3:30 pm
Klamath Community College, Conference Center - Building 7

Two Virtual Sessions:  
Wednesday October 18th & Wednesday October 25th
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm Virtual (Zoom)

Cost:  There is no fee for Module 2a for employees of SOESD or SOESD's 13 component school districts.
$99 for registrants outside Jackson/Josephine/Klamath counties.
