SOESD and Oregon Institute of Technology are excited to present this highly engaging workshop to educators and student support professionals throughout Southern Oregon! Come join us for three days of learning, practice and collaboration as we deep-dive into the world of student behavior through the lens of inclusive classrooms. Topics explored will include:
- Strategies for increasing meaningful student response/participation during classroom activities
- Engaging all learners through positive teacher/staff interactions
- Meaningful reinforcers in the classroom
- Peer modeling
- Universally designed supports
- Understanding the functions of behavior
- Responding to disruptive behavior
- Student-centered planning for support
- Data-driven supports for all learners
About the Presenters:
Dawn Bailey, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA, Associate Professor at Oregon Institute of Technology, 17 years as school-based consultant in small and large, rural, and urban districts across the Florida panhandle. Experienced with consultation in regular education, general special education, and special programs (Emotional/Behavior Disorders, Severe and Profound I/DD programs, etc.).
Jennifer White, MEd, BCBA, LBA, Adjunct faculty at Oregon Institute of Technology, Behavior Analyst for Portland Public Schools, previously licensed special education teacher in Oregon with 10 years of consultative experience in schools.
Dates, location and Times: August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at the OIT Campus in Klamath Falls 8:30am-4:30pm daily. Lunch Provided.
Cost: Free to school employees in Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake and Douglas Counties. $200 for participants from other organizations within the region. If cost of attendance is a barrier, please contact kylee_harrison@soesd.k12.or.us
