Description

Join the Consortium for Public Education for a two-day Project-Based Learning (PBL) training. This training will provide newcomers to PBL with a clear framework for project design, including specific tools, resources, and classroom strategies to support day-to-day implementation; and for those who are already well-versed in projects, the training will offer space for deeper design and workshop time among colleagues. Over the course of two days, participants will use these key elements to draft project unit plans, sharing ideas and receiving feedback from colleagues throughout to refine their instructional design.

What to Expect

All participants will have the opportunity to learn, explore, and apply key elements of project design, including:

  • Project assessment; real world connections
  • Student voice and choice
  • Driving questions
  • Brainstorming
  • Research, feedback and revision
  • Reflection, and public presentation

PBL instruction directly aligns with career and technical education: CTE is inherently project-based, with its focus on real-world, authentic applications and tangible outcomes.

Outcome

Educators will leave with a strong understanding of key PBL elements and a clear unit of design to implement in their classrooms
