Constructing Meaning is designed for elementary and secondary teachers. This workshop is for secondary teachers and will focus on material appropriate for secondary.
This workshop offers teachers the process and the tools to identify specific, content-driven language objectives and design instruction to address those objectives. A backward design approach is fused with the principles of second language acquisition to create student-centered classrooms in which rigorous academic teaching includes explicit language instruction. The Constructing Meaning workshop's goals are to provide ELL's the essential tools for both oral and writing production.
NOTE: Workshop room number changes after third session.
It is strongly recommended that you speak with your principal and district coordinator before signing up for this workshop.
This workshop will be focused on Secondary Strategies.
