I have taught math classes for 32 years. The majority of my time has been at the high school level though I have taught classes from 5th grade through Community College level. My work with Teacher's Development Group (TDG) over the last couple of years has greatly enhanced my ability to relate to all my students and teach in a way that brings equity to my classroom.
Ben DeCarlow

Ben DeCarlow

The majority of my teaching career has been spent in rural and semi-rural schools teaching science. Throughout that time, I have been able to help guide other teachers in the implementation in NGSS using the phenomena based model of learning. This model allows for students to take ownership of their learning of science and the world around them. While many teachers find this to be a difficult process to follow at first, many have found it to be very rewarding.

Alex Eckert - MIND Research

Alex Eckert - MIND Research

I spent 8.5 years as a high school math teacher and 7 years as a middle and high school administrator, focused on empowering students to take ownership for their learning. As a math teacher, I utilized as many technology-based tools that I could get my hands on – both hardware and software. Anything that would eliminate barriers and provide an entry point for my students to engage with the math was worth trying! As an administrator I supported teachers in their efforts to harness the power of technology to enhance learning. For the past year I have been working with MIND Research Institute, helping to bring the patented spatial-temporal approach of ST Math into the hands of districts and schools.
